Winter Parade

The Winter Parade was yesterday. Aside from the fact that Lexie got all the way there and had no coat, the parade was wonderful. She wore my coat and after about an hour Alyssa took her to the car to get warm. The parade lasted 2 hours and boasted 7 awesome marching bands, horses, floats, belly dancers, really cool comunity art and a lot of candy.

Aren't they about the cutes kids ever?

This is one of the rival bands to our high school, Anthony Wayne. They are really good but not quite as big as our band.

This float was made entirely from recycled materials. The chimney is bales of cardboard, the tree was donated last year, the ornaments are pop cans and other recyclables, the candy canes from coke and diet coke cans that were wired together with recycled wire!

Lexie loved the Clydesdales.

Brady loved the candy and the drummers!

This is the local unicycle club. It made me think of our friend Dale Yorgason, he is an accomplished unicyclist and would have a blast with this group. They looked really fun and we got a coupon for a free lesson. Brandon is eager to try it out!
The cast from A Christmas Carol.

I just loved this dancing woman. She is the community art creation for this private school. They take her to all the local events. The belly dancers behind her were also very cool. In another life I think I will be a belly dancer :-).

Even the Grinch made an appearance.

More band pictures that I can't find my son in! How frustrating!
Nutcrackers playing The Nutcracker!

If you watch all the way to the end of this clip, you will see Brandon. He is on the very back row. He is the second from the right as they are walking away from you. I tried so hard to get a shot of him and after we got home Alyssa said she thought she might have seen him when she was taking the video. Sure enough; barely but at least we got it!

Doesn't he look so handsome?

This is my really creative way to get almost all of the kids (and the dog) in a picture together. Can you see 3 of the 4?
