We went to Columbus yesterday to tour some of the venues where Alyssa plans on spending a lot of her time. Sorry for the yucky pictures--cell phone was the camera of choice since we knew were would be doing a LOT of walking!
The day started in a huge auditorium. The band played for us and the football coach and some players came and talked to the kids. It was really fun to see Coach Tressel interact with his players. He is a very charismatic man!
Of course, the first tour we scheduled was to see "The Shoe"! The stadium tour was first and it was AWESOME!! They took us to all the places that aren't usually open to the public, game day suites, locker rooms, recruiting room, varsity player alumni room.
I loved the structures of the campus, at 60,000+ students--it is bigger as most towns Alyssa has lived in!

This is approaching the front doors to the place where Alyssa will live. She was accepted into the Biological Sciences Scholars Program.
As a member of her scholars program, she gets to live in this really awesome dorm with all the other scholars community. They take block classes together and have activities, field trips, study sessions, etc. I think it looks like my princess finally got her castle!

I still remember sitting in the auditorium and listening to the Trojan band play for the first time. It was magical and I knew I was home! Tell Alyssa congratulations. College is amazing!

This makes me SO excited for Alyssa! I wish I could do that whole part of college all over again--it was such a fun time of life! (Not a lot of the papers and finals week...but everything else:) You will LOVE this next phase of life, Alyssa! Enjoy every minute of it (except for some of the papers and finals week:)
